As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by the officers of the Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia one person has been exposed on a fact of breaching the procedure related to the movement of especially large quantity of goods across the customs border.

Investigation has determined that the accused person with the use of secret compartments in a vehicle, was trying to export secretly 984 units of mobile phones from Georgia to Azerbaijan through the customs checkpoint "Mtkvari". Total customs value of the above mentioned goods equals GEL 22 240.

Investigation is underway under the second part of article 214 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 5 to 7 years.
