Representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, in the month of November of the current year, as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities conducted throughout Georgia, exposed 25 facts of storage-transportation-sale of large quantities of excisable goods subject to marking, without excise marks, for which 24 persons were charged as accused, 12 of them are detained.

As a result of investigative activities, a total of 25 748 non-excised cigarettes of various denominations, with a total market value of more than GEL 150 000, were seized from the persons exposed in the crime.

The investigation is being conducted under Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 8 years.
