As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by Representatives of the Investigation service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia in different districts of Tbilisi,   4  places were exposed where special equipment (so called “sim-box”) was installed for the purpose of  illegal convert of international calls into local calls.

Investigation found out that criminal group, members of which are foreign citizens, were converting international calls into local calls and thus illegally changing the tariff of the incoming calls. Abovementioned caused significant financial damage to state budget as well as the companies working in telecommunication field.

Investigation is underway under Articles 185 and 192 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
