As a result of investigational-operative activities carried out by representatives of Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance of Georgia two persons have been arrested on fact of missapropriation of property of third party in large quantities.

Investigation has determined that from December 2016 to March 2017, the accused persons have bought five crooked BMW- X5 model cars for the purpose of misappropriation of third party’s money. After this, one of the accused persons applied to Financial Organization in order to take loan with above mentioned vehicles to be considered as the collateral.

Another accused person, also involved in criminal scheme, expert-appraiser of the above mentioned organization, using his job position, has given on purpose, wrong information on above mentioned vehicles to the corresponding department of the organization. Based on this information the loans were granted with no actual collateral. Accordingly the organization could not retrieve the money given as a loan.  Due to those criminal activities a loss of GEL 61 157 in total was incurred to the organization.

Investigation is underway under third part of article 180 of Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
