As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, initiated criminal prosecution against six persons on the facts of misappropriation of the state property by deceit, manufacturing and using forged documents and neglecting official duty.

Investigation determined that one of the accused persons, with the help of two Municipality City Hall employees and three false witnesses, using forged documents, fraudulently registered four land plots, with total volume of 5477 square meters, located in the village of Tsitelsopeli of Kareli Municipality. Total market value of the illegally acquired land plots estimates GEL 52 678.

As soon as the investigation was started, illegally owned land plots were seized.

Investigation is being continued under the third part of article 180, third part of article 362 and first part of article 342 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
