As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, imposed criminal liability on four persons, on the facts of deceitful misappropriation of large quantity of state property, negligence and preparing of forged documents.

Investigation determined, that the accused person, head of one of the construction companies, carried out rehabilitation works of roofs of apartment buildings located in Kvemo Kartli region. During the works, in order to receive illegal material benefit, he artificially expanded the volume and characteristics of the works carried out, in corresponding documentation, thus illegally received GEL 59 000. Supervision on the above mentioned works, was a duty of the representative of the municipality, who in his turn, improperly fulfilled his duties and signed acts on works carried out, without proper inspection.

It was also determined, that experts of one of the private expertise companies, issued forged certificates, as if actual works carried out on site, were matching the works described in documentation.

Investigation is underway under the third part of article 180, first part of article 342 and second part of article 362 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisage imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
