As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, one person was arrested on the fact of attempt to misappropriate citizen’s money by means of fraudulent actions.

Investigation determined that the accused person has earned trust of internally displaced person from occupied territories of Georgia and deceptively assured him that if he would pay USD 5000, he would get the ownership of 4-room apartment in the building destined for refugees, on the territory of Tbilisi Sea, with the help of several high rank officials.

The accused person was arrested by representatives of the Investigation Service on the fact of taking some part of the above mentioned money, equaled to USD 3000.

Investigation is underway under the second part of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 4 to 7 years.
