As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia arrested the director of the Non-entrepreneurial (Non-commercial) Legal Entity “Kvareli Center for the Protection and Development of Cultural Heritage, Sport and Rest Centers” on the fact of fraud.

One of the authorities of the accused person was only to care and protect “Ilia Lake” and its adjacent square existed on the balance of Kvareli Municipality, and not the right to its disposal. As investigation determined, the accused person deceitfully promised to a citizen ensuring the placement of a commercial object on the territory of the abovementioned square and its protection. In return for this assistance, he asked and took from the citizen GEL 700.

Investigation is underway, under “b” sub-paragraph of the second part and “a” sub-paragraph of the third part of Article 180, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
