Employees of Investigation Service will attend trainings within the frames of EU Project

Deputy Heads of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia Mr. Vakhtang Paresishvili and Mr. Vaja Panozishvili met with Deputy Head of EU Technical Assistance Project to “Support the Fight Against Organized Crime”, Mr. Asen Yanchev.

During the meeting, Mr. Asen Yanchev introduced the project “Support the Fight Against Organized Crime” to the representatives of Investigation Service and spoke about its’ priority directions. As Deputy Head of the project mentioned, project will support to strengthen Georgian law enforcement authorities in such directions as – research, analytical and strategic planning, strengthening legal mechanisms, prevention of crime and others.

Topics emphasized at the meeting - importance of retraining, raising qualification and sharing of European experience to the employees of Investigation Service for ensuring fighting against organized crime effectively. Parties agreed on the future cooperation in issues of above-mentioned direction.

The aim of EU project “Support the Fight Against Organized Crime” is to stimulate law enforcement authorities in fighting against organized crime. Deepen international legal cooperation based on risk analysis and legal activities based on analysis. Duration of the project is 30 months and the budget estimates EUR 1 987 250.
