As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia arrested one person on the fact of misappropriation of large amount of money.

Investigation determined that the accused person in order to misappropriate another person’s property, gained trust of one of the citizens and assured him as if he was a high level official of international criminal police organization – Interpol. The accused person took USD 5 000 from the above mentioned citizen and promised assistance in acquiring a state owned land plot on the territory of Tbilisi Sea, with the help of high level officials.

Investigation is underway under third part of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
