As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, head of one company was arrested on the fact of misappropriation of large amount of money by an organized group.

Investigation determined that the accused person, together with his associates, in order to misappropriate other persons property, made a plan according to which famous musician Chris Rea was supposed to give a concert in Tbilisi, within the frames of the his world tour. While executing criminal plan, the accused person formally signed contracts with one of the concert halls and online ticketing company. He carried out Active PR campaign in order to attract citizens, as if there had to be a concert of Chris Rea on December 30, 2017. With above mentioned criminal intension, 2 727 tickets were sold, with total value of GEL 152 850.

Investigation also determined that world tour of Chris Rea was finished on December 12, 2017 in England and there were no plans to hold a concert in Tbilisi.

Investigation is underway under third and fourth parts of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 7 to 10 years.

Currently, corresponding activities are carrying out in order to identify and expose other persons related to above mentioned crime.
