As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, through the coordinated activities with the representatives of the Customs Department of the LEPL Revenue Service, brought to the criminal liability one person, on the fact of attempted smuggling of large amount of goods across the customs border of Georgia in violation of customs regulations.
Investigation determined, that citizen of Republic of Azerbaijan, through the customs checkpoint “Tsiteli Khidi”, hidden from the customs control, attempted to smuggle medicines, food supplements and computer equipment, having value of GEL 23 863, from Georgia to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The person brought to the criminal liability in the mentioned criminal case was found guilty for the crime envisaged by the first part of Article 214 of the Criminal Code of Georgia by the court judgment entered into legal force and in addition to the basic sentence was sentenced with supplementary punishment - confiscation of contraband goods.
