Head of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, Mr. Mikheil Maghlakelidze, held an introductory meeting with a detective of Federal Police of the Australian Commonwealth in the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Kel Mansfield. Deputy heads of Investigation Service attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the challenges existing in combating financial-economic crime and the prospects for cooperation between the counterpart law enforcement agencies. Head of Investigation Service made the guest familiarized with the mandate of Investigation Service. Mr. Mikheil Maghlakelidze paid attention to the contemporary challenges in the fight against financial-economic crime and the priority areas of activities of Investigation Service.
In his turn, detective of Federal Police of the Australian Commonwealth, Mr. Kel Mansfield provided an overview of the scale of financial-economic crimes, frozen assets management and on the importance of working together to identify and investigate crimes committed with a cyber component and international organized crime schemes.
At the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness for future professional cooperation and agreed to continue communicating in a working format as necessary.
