As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained one person on the fact of manufacturing goods hazardous to human life and health.
Investigation determined that during 2025–2026, the accused purchased various types of expired branded products, which were intended to be used as animal feed.
The detainee was changing expiration dates on the products using an artificially made stamp and sold the goods from the courtyard of his own house in the village of Kvemo Gurgeniani, Lagodekhi Municipality.
Within the framework of planned operational-searching activities carried out during the investigation, expired branded products were purchased from the accused.
As a result of the search, a large quantity of expired branded products under various names, an artificially made stamp used to change expiration dates, and cash received from the sale of expired products were seized from a storage area in the yard of the accused’s house and from a vehicle.
Case is being investigated under the first part of Article 198 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance continues active investigative actions to identify and seize expired products that pose threat to life and health.
