As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained a citizen of the Russian Federation on the fact of illegal storage and sale of alcoholic products without excise marks.

Investigation determined that the accused person, illegally stored and sold excisable alcoholic product „BELUGA“ subject to mandatory marking, without excise marks, in order to gain illicit material benefit.

Accused person was detained immediately upon the sale of the non-excise products.

At this stage, investigative activities are being continued to identify and expose other individuals involved in the above-mentioned crime.

Investigation is underway under the third part of the Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which as a type of sentence, envisages imprisonment from six to eight years.
