As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by the representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, three individuals were detained on the fact of storage, transportation and sale of excisable goods subject to marking, without excise marks, in large quantities.

In order to expose the crime, Investigation Service carried out operational-searching activities and investigative activities in Tbilisi, Ozurgeti and the Samegrelo region.

As a result of investigative activities, 8 500 boxes of non-excised cigarettes of various brands, intended for sale, were seized, with a total market value exceeding GEL 39 000.

Investigation is underway under the Article 200 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which as a type and extent of sentence, envisages imprisonment from six to eight years.
