As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out in coordination with Prosecutor's Office of Georgia, Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained a senior specialist of Supervision and Technical Department of Gardabani Municipality City Hall for demanding and taking a bribe.

Investigation determined that public servant, while performing his official duties, demanded and took GEL 500 as a bribe in exchange for signing the acts of covert works drawn up within the framework of state procurement.

The accused was detained on the fact of taking money and the cash was seized as evidence.

Investigation is underway under Article 338, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for imprisonment for a term of six to nine years.
