INVESTIGATION SERVICE DETECTED THE FACT OF MANUFACTURING AND USING FORGED TAX DOCUMENTS

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, detained two persons and brought to the criminal liability three persons on the fact of manufacturing and using forged tax documents by a group, and by prior agreement of the group, fraudulently causing large amounts of property damage to the state budget.

Investigation determined that the accused persons, in order to receive illegal material benefit, during the period of 2020, on behalf of the companies under their management, issued forged tax invoices, reflecting fictitious delivery of goods and services worth of GEL 762 000 and thus, created counterfeit assets in the amount of GEL 116 234, which later was fraudulently used by them completely, to cover their current tax liabilities. 

Investigation is underway under the second part of Article 210, the second and third parts of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisage imprisonment from 4 to 7 years.
